Directions to Palmetto Montessori
From Interstate 26 (North Charleston)
If you are entering downtown Charleston from I-26, stay in your left lane and go all the way to the end of the highway. After the first traffic light, you will merge with traffic onto Meeting Street. Drive to the eighth traffic light at Calhoun Street, and turn right onto Calhoun Street. After the third traffic light (at Coming Street), you'll see a large white church on the left at the next intersection (no traffic light). The Palmetto Montessori parking lot will be on your left – just after that church building.
From Highway 17 North (Mt. Pleasant)
If you are entering downtown Charleston from Hwy 17-N, you'll be coming over the old Cooper River Bridge (this is the narrow two-lane, one-way bridge). Get in your right lane coming off the bridge, but don't exit the highway before you come to a traffic light. 200 feet after the first traffic light you will see a short street veering off from the right. Take that street to the traffic light and turn left (the only option) onto Rutledge Avenue. Stay on Rutledge Avenue till you get to Calhoun Street (at the MUSC Hospital). Turn left onto Calhoun Street. Just past the first traffic light (at Smith Street), the Palmetto Montessori parking lot will be on your right – just before the large white church building.
From Highway 17 South (West Ashley)
If you are entering downtown Charleston from Hwy 17-S, stay in your far right lane coming over the bridge, and exit the highway onto Lockwood Drive heading south. Once on Lockwood, you'll turn left at the first traffic light and merge with traffic entering Calhoun Street headed east. Just past the fouth traffic light (at Smith Street), the Palmetto Montessori parking lot will be on your right – just before the large white church building.
From Highway 61 (West Ashley)
If you are entering downtown Charleston from Hwy 61, you'll have to get onto I-30 (the James Is. Connector) and cross the bridge to the Charleston Peninsula. Follow the signs to Downtown, not Folly Beach. Stay in your far left lane coming over the bridge, and merge with traffic entering Calhoun Street headed east. Just past the fouth traffic light (at Smith Street), the Palmetto Montessori parking lot will be on your right – just before the large white church building.
